LITTLE SIMZ FT. MICHAEL KIWANUKA | FLOWERS

“One more hit before my eyes close, One more hit before my eyes close…”

Caught this almost by accident on Jools (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbvdWY0oLw0) and so happy I did… I would highly recommend watching this. Mix on this one is unreal live and both on the LP, feels like some lost Bill Withers gem which is prob the biggest compliment you could pay.

JONNY GREENWOOD | TREE SYNTHESISERS

Amazing track from the soundtrack of ‘You Were Never Really Here’, and used to perfection in the film but can’t really spoil things here the only thing I would say that its’ a must-watch for me. Has the sense and beauty of this Moby classic from Heat if you are looking for more on a similar tip.

FMB MIXTAPE 141 | BOO WILLIAMS (320 DOWNLOAD)

This week it’s our pleasure to have  the great Boo Williams to take on episode 141 of our podcast series. As always we quickly caught up with the Chicago house veteran to find out a bit more about what he’s been up to and the idea behind the mix:

Staying focus on my new BOO MOONMAN label and continuing to strive for perfection.

This was recorded in my Chicago flat sans vinyl just today. Wanted to play some classics with new tracks.

INSTRA:MENTAL | SAKURA

Love this cut from Timelines, the LP from Instra:mental that came out last year. Has a proper Bladerunner feel to it, amazing glassy synths and rolling beat, production tight as you would expect from these guys. If you are a fan of this would highly recommend checking out Severent by Kudeo which takes a more direct Bladerunner hommage.

ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER | SAND PARTINA

One of my favourite pieces of OPN’s work, The Fall into Time, from 2013. Came back to this one after watching Uncut Gems which he did the soundtrack for, and it helped elevate an already great film to a new level. Moog did a great piece, behind the scenes of the soundtrack (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIAvmtNIx9I) word of warning it will prob make you want a Moog one, and at 8k that’s a decent dent ;)
