Tornoto new-boys on the block Ebony are up next. For those that may have missed it collab-ed with these guys last year for our release Love Myself, you can pick up on a free download HERE. Ebony have been slowly  and carefully building their repertoire of tracks and this mix unveils a few of their gems they have been keeping close to their chest, expect big things over the next year from this duo… We caught up with the guys to ask them what they are up to at the minute and a bit about the mix.

“We are just finishing up and creating new tracks when we can, so far we’ve built up quite a catalogue. The mix was recorded on CDJ’s while at a cottage in Buffalo, which might be reflective in the direction we went with this mix (sunshine vibes to midnight tribes). It’s full of a bunch of our own tracks we’ve been working on, and some tracks new and old we’ve been in to lately… We have a busy summer ahead of us – polishing up an ep, a self vinyl release, and a music video in the works”

FMB MIXTAPE 07 | HARVEY SUTHERLAND

Next up on the FMB Mixtape Series we have one of Australia’s finest, Harvey Sutherland. Last year he grabbed our attention with huge releases on Echovolt and Voyage records, showing his unique blend of jazz and house. If you havn’t checked his stuff we highly advise doing so. We caught up with him after the mix to see what he’s been up to recently and to ask a bit about the mix;

“I’ve been writing and recording new bits for the live show, developing some sketches for a new record, IRL job, post-grad study, playing in a band, thinking about getting a cat. The mix was recorded very shoddily, at home. It’s a bit of a thrown together affair, a sonic “mood board” for my latest 12”. The stuff I’ve been listening to recently, and just classic tunes I’ve always played a lot. Mix references and aspirational jazz funk.”

Next up for Harvey is his first international tour – a whirlwind trip to EU. Live shows, and a bit of DJing. You can check out the full list of dates at the bottom.

FMB MIXTAPE 06 | ROTHMANS

Next up on the FMB mixtape series is an old pawl Ant who runs the Rotham’s label straight outta’ Liverpool! Channeling weirdo italo and synth, fans of the likes of Brassica, Ali Renault and Tusk wax will know doubt know and love the label! The recent Brassica remix of Aimes has been a huge tune for us since Christmas! Really excited to have Ant onboard, here’s a few words from the lad himself!

“Been living in LA for the last few months producing an album and DJing around California, promoting parties etc. been out here a few times last couple of years, its becoming somewhat Rothmans spiritual home!”

“Shat it out on a pair of 1200’s like a boss, hence the dodgy mixing, apart from the last tune which is not pressed yet so i kind of just glued it on the end.”

“Its pretty much all unreleased stuff from Rothmans and a few of our friends, Tusk, COF, Belly Dance UK etc etc, a kind of sounds of 2015 according to Rothmans I suppose. Flying straight from LA to Amsterdam for my best mates stag do, gonna be horrible!! Then back in the UK for a bit, playing with my first ALFOS in a few weeks with the gouverner himself!! looking forward to that  then our first trip to Japan in Sep.”

FMB MIXTAPE 05 | JACOB KORN

Jacob first shot on to the scene, well to us anyway, back in 2009 with his amazing debut EP ‘I like the sun’ on Running Back. At the time it was so refreshing and listing back it still is now. I loved the track ‘Selene‘ on it, so much in fact the EP hasn’t left the bag since we got it back then. From there; was amazing releases on Dolly, Shtum and his own imprint Uncanny Valley… just looking back there are too many bombs, to name but a few mirrorflip and she go down as absolute classics… Anyways back to now and over to Jacob, he has give us a live mix recorded a few months back we caught up with him to check what he has coming up and to ask him a bit about the mix;

“At the moment i’m working on a remix for “Luv Jam” (We Play House) and the follow up for “EP-1” you quessed it, “EP-2” out now on “Uncanny Valley”.

The mix is actually a liveset that was recorded at “New Forms Festival” Vancouver in September 2014. The idea was to capture the vibe of a live performance with the mic but the additional line signal got lost so what we got here is the true club atmosphere :) “

What are you up to next?

Finishing the next EP in the series (boring task) and some studio jamming and live gigs in between (fun part).

FMB MIXTAPE 04 | DE SLUWE VOS

Next up on the mixtape series we have Dutch supremo De Sluwe Vos. We have been big fans of his since he first popped up on the radar with the huge OG Anthem back in 2013 and have been lucky enough to catch his energetic live set a few times since. We Caught up with him ahead of this mix to see what he is up to now and next…

“I’ve been living in my studio and playing around mainly. Working with 10 different (and my favorite) artists for my debut album ‘Kontra’ got me a little isolated from the world around me. Before the long studio sessions in Amsterdam started, I went to a cottage alone to finish drafts for this album. I’m really excited about the whole project as it involves a live tour as well. That basically means we have to rehearse with percussionists, a guitar player, different singers, rappers, vj’s, engineers on location. We’re even shooting my second singles’ video clip at the moment now. But working on new material, mixing the album and touring all at the same time can result in ruff times. But hey, I’m living my own dream at the moment! And it never felt like work to me!


After eating a lot of chicken I recorded the mix in my studio.I wanted to show the different sides of dance/electronic music that I dig at the moment and also wanted to give you guys a little preview of some of the album tracks.”

What are you up to next?

“I recently played London (Eastsunrise) and it’s a delight to play London again in April at Plan B. Also looking forward to Outbreak Festival during bank holiday (Derby, Leicestershire, Castle Donington) and more than 30 festivals are confirmed. Proud to say I’m closing at Awakenings Festival (NL), DGTL (NL) and love to be part of Pollerwiesen (DE) this summer.
