This time around we’re stoked to welcome Matt Cutler aka Lone onto our mix series. The head honcho of MagicWire, Matt has also released his music since 2007 on seminal labels like R&S Records, Werk Discs, Beat Records and more. Over the years, he’s crafted and grafted to earn his following, and this mix helps to illustrate why his success is so far-reaching. “Been solidly wrapping up tracks for release this year. Ended up ditching about 5 months worth of material and made an EP in just under a week, so there’s tons of stuff knocking around at the moment!
The mix was recorded in my front room in Hackney on the cdj’s + a few records.
I wanted to capture a snapshot of being at home and listening to tunes with friends, nothing too calculated and overly thought out, hopefully capturing a vibe and showcasing what I’m collecting / listening to / making at the moment – there’s a couple of new unreleased things from me thrown in for good measure.”
